Toubkal Trek Cost

Guide fees

A licensed mountain guide is included on every Toubkal trek — you do not pay separately. On the standard treks the guide also cooks; on longer or private treks a dedicated cook may join. The guide fee, muleteer fees and mule hire are all bundled into the single per-person price.

Accommodation

• Neltner refuge (3,207 m): dormitory bunk with blankets — included in the trek price.
• Pre/post trek Marrakech hotel: not included; we can recommend and book riads from €40/night.
• Luxury option: private guesthouse in Imlil before or after the trek.

Meals

• Day 1 lunch and dinner, summit day breakfast and lunch — all included.
• Mountain cooking: harira soup, tagine, couscous, bread, tea.
• Vegetarian and most dietary needs handled with notice.

Food guide

Transport

Private air-conditioned transfer between Marrakech and Imlil (about 1.5 hours each way) is included on every trek. Airport pick-ups can be arranged on request. You do not need to arrange any transport yourself.

Equipment rental

• Sleeping-bag liner: recommended (refuges provide blankets); bring your own.
• Crampons and ice axe: included in winter ascent pricing.
• Trekking poles: bring your own or rent in Imlil.
• Headtorch: essential for the pre-dawn summit start; bring your own.

How much does it cost to climb Toubkal?

From €245 per person for the 2-day trek, all-inclusive (guide, mule, refuge, meals, transfer). The 3-day is from €340; winter ascents from €295 including crampon hire.

What is included in the Toubkal trek price?

Licensed guide, mule team, refuge accommodation, all meals on trek, bottled water and private Marrakech-to-Imlil transfers. Insurance, drinks, gear rental and tips are extra.

What is not included?

Personal trekking insurance (required), drinks beyond water, gear rental (sleeping bag, poles), tips for the guide and mule team, and Marrakech hotels before and after the trek.

Can I do it cheaper?

Join a shared departure, trek in shoulder months, travel in a small group, and bring your own liner and headtorch to avoid rentals. The trek price itself is already all-inclusive.

What is the luxury option?

A private departure with a private guide, a premium Imlil guesthouse before or after the trek, and a luxury desert camp extension. Pricing is shown on each tour page.

Are there discounts for groups?

Yes — per-person cost drops with group size on private treks. Message us with your group size and dates for a quote.

Do I need to tip on Toubkal?

Tips for the guide and mule team are customary and appreciated but discretionary — typically around 10% of the trek cost, given at the end. Not included in the price.

What is the total cost including extras?

Budget the trek price plus travel insurance (€30–€80), tips (around €25), any gear rental, and your Marrakech hotels and flights. The trek itself has no hidden on-the-mountain costs.
